A grab bag of goodies about women and aging in this strange land of yours. The United States, we mean. In SwazziLand, women are considered more beautiful with each passing year. Young women yearn impatiently for wrinkles, since each line on a woman’s face is considered a mark of respect—a sign of decades of wide grins and exuberant laughter, of wisdom earned, love given, battles won, and life fully lived.
In the Swazzi dictionary, the word “crone” is actually synonymous with “babe.”
But here in the US, things are, sadly, a bit different. (We’re working on it. Join us!)
